Construction to replace an aging section of water main and sections of sewer main on Villa Street between Castro Street and Hope Street has begun.  To minimize construction impacts to businesses and downtown activities, regular construction is restricted to weekdays between Monday and Wednesday.  Starting Monday, September 17, 2018 (Sunday night into Monday morning), between Monday and Wednesday, the contractor will be working during both daytime and nighttime for two weeks.  During these two weeks, contractor will  start with nighttime work at the Castro/Villa intersection and transition into daytime work areas.  
 
The Castro/Villa intersection will be closed for through traffic and traffic detours will be implemented during nighttime construction.  Street closures, lane closures, and turn restrictions will be implemented during daytime construction and may cause traffic delays.
